Who is Pakka?
The name “Pakka” comes from the two people who shaped my understanding of art, creativity and making things by hand: my mother and her father - my grandfather. In our family, nicknames were used more than real names. My mother was called “KK,” a name given to her by her father. The grandchildren called him “Paca.” Over time, those two names blended in my mind into “Pakka.”
Both of them were makers in the truest sense. My grandfather was a draftsman and multi-disciplinary artist who took pride in doing things properly - drawing, painting, building frames for his own work and treating craft as something worth respecting. My mother carried that same creative spirit. They didn’t just encourage creativity; they lived it and they expected care, patience and pride in the work. That way of approaching making - slow, intentional and honest - stuck with me.
Pakka Studio exists to honor that lineage. It’s rooted in the idea that tools and materials matter, that how something is made matters, and that craftsmanship is still worth preserving in a world of shortcuts and mass production. Every piece, formula and tool I create is shaped by that old-school mindset they passed down: learn the fundamentals, respect the materials and take pride in the result.
In a very real way, Pakka Studio is my way of carrying their influence forward - keeping their quiet lessons alive through the work itself.
